July Empties: Products I've Used Up

Thursday, 6 August 2020

You guys know what time it is, it's Empties time! This edit is perhaps one of the smallest that I've featured this year so far, but there are some absolute must-haves in this little basket which are not to be missed!

REN Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Salt Anti-Fatigue Exfoliating Body Scrub* (reviewed here)
As someone who struggles with chronic tiredness, I personally find REN's Anti-Fatigue range really useful and I love how beneficial magnesium-infused products are for the body. This Body Scrub is a proper luxury treat and it feels like a spa treatment whenever I use it so it's come in handy during lockdown! I just love it and have used up a couple of tubs over the years. Repurchase? Yes definitely, and I'm also already using the matching Body Wash in my shower at the moment.

Weleda Skin Food* (reviewed here)
A beauty regular in many of my Empties posts, Weleda's Skin Food is a multi-tasking superhero that I always have on my bedside table. This ultra-thick moisturiser helps to seriously hydrate dry skin and can be used anywhere on the body that needs some extra TLC such as hands, feet, elbow, cuticles etc. I've used up this tube on my hands alone to combat the drying effects of hand sanitiser! Repurchase? Definitely.

Ben & Anna Sensitive Natural Toothpaste* (reviewed here)
Looking for a plastic-free toothpaste? Look no further! I'm a big fan of Ben & Anna who package their Natural Toothpaste in glass jars. They last a long time too. Repurchase? Yes.

Corpore Sanctum Tonify Me Bunny Pore Minimising Mist (link)
I discovered this super cute bunny-shaped Toner Mist from K-beauty brand Corpore Sanctum in a lifestyle box from The Vegan Kind and I've been seriously impressed it. Infused with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C, it's a lovely refreshing toner to use during the hot and sticky Summer months. Repurchase? I'm using the Antipodes Resurrect Clarifying Toner at the moment but I'd happily buy this again in the future.
Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Balm(reviewed here)
Another multi-tasking gem, Balm Balm's Little Miracle Rosehip Balm is great for massaging into dry skin and it's perfect for helping to improve the appearance of stretch marks over time as long as you apply it on a regular basis. I must have used up at least two or three jars by now! Repurchase? Yes.

A'kin Hydrating Antioxidant Day Cream(reviewed here)
One of my favourite day moisturisers, this one from Australian brand A'kin is ideal for my combination skin as it provides essential hydration but doesn't overload my skin. I find it nice and light for summer, yet it still has a satisfying rich texture. Another product that I've used many times in the past. Repurchase? Definitely.

Doucce Boombastic Lash Volumizer Mascara
I haven't been wearing much makeup during lockdown, except for a bit of tinted moisturiser and this mascara which is one of the best that I've tried for being smudge-proof in the heat - give it a go if you have hayfever! Repurchase? Yes.

P.S - How To Recycle Your Beauty Empties!

All of the glass and easy-to-recycle plastic PET empties will be put into my council's blue bin kerbside recycling scheme, but for the harder-to-recycle stuff, I will be:-

  • Recycling the pumps, lids and atomisers with Neal's Yard Remedies - more info at the bottom of their website here.
  • Recycling any other products that my local council doesn't accept at The Body Shop, L'Occitane or with Garnier's Terracycle partnership - more info here.
