A brand new holistic self-care subscription box called Box Of Yin Yang arrived on my doorstep about a fortnight ago and I couldn't wait to see what was inside!
Based upon the hugely popular ancient philosophy, the Box Of Yin Yang has been curated to help rebalance these important forces in your life and contain 5-7 products such as candles, herbal and fruit teas, jewellery, aromatherapy and other lifestyle accessories.
All of the products included are vegan and cruelty-free, plus they've all been sourced from UK based businesses which is wonderful to see and something that I'm always very happy to support. The box is delivered monthly and you'll receive either a Box Of Yin or a Box of Yang depending on that month's theme (for reference, the Boxes of Yin feature products to calm and relax, and the Boxes of Yang are full of products to uplift and energise).
The very first box to be released is the Box of Yang which is themed 'Here Comes The Sun' and it comes presented in eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging.
Here's what's inside:-
Chantler Teas Welsh Sunrise Herbal Loose Leaf Tea
I love trying different blends of herbal tea so this packet from Chantler Teas immediately caught my eye when I opened the box. Called 'Welsh Sunrise', it's a delicious energising and unique blend of Honeybush, Ginger and Orange which tastes fruity and a little bit tangy. I've tried it hot and cold and it's tasty both ways!
Blanka Skincare Walking On Sunshine Moisturising Soap Bar
Next up, I found a Moisturising Soap Bar from an indie skincare brand based in Brighton called Blanka Skincare. Completely plastic-free, it was carefully wrapped in a box with tissue paper inside and it has a cool modern design to it. Created by using traditional small-batch soap making techniques, this all-natural soap bar has a moisturising base of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Shea Butter which is blended with two organic essential oils, Cedarwood and Mandarin, to boost your mood. It also has Poppy Seeds to offer some gentle exfoliation.
Eira Soaps Sunshine Lip Balm
Another plastic-free treat is this lovely Sunshine Lip Balm which is 100% natural and handmade by Eira Soaps. It lives up to its name by having a smooth and hydrating balm blended with energising Lime, Mint and Clementine which reminds me of a juicy summer cocktail!
Frank & I Sun Rising Candle
Perhaps my favourite product from the box, this Frank & I Sun Rising Candle is an absolutely gorgeous new discovery for me and it's an indie brand that I'll definitely be looking into when I next need to pick up some gifts. This hand-poured candle is made from natural soy wax and the fragrance is composed of 100% organic essential oils. I just love this sunny aroma of Grapefruit, Mandarin and Rosemary as it makes any living space instantly more welcoming.
The Sage Studio Sunstone Diffuser Bracelet
How pretty is this delicate Sunstone Diffuser Bracelet? Crafted together from Robles Wood, it features a pale pink Sunstone accent which is known as a 'joyous' stone which helps to restore the enjoyment of life, good nature and provide a sense of abundance. On either side of the Sunstone, two Lavastones have been added which add further grounding and calming properties, and you add a few drops of pure essential oil to both the porous Lavastone and Robles Wood elements to reap further aromatherapy benefits.
Suncloud By Kay Sunrise Essential Oil
To use on its own in your own diffuser or simply with the bracelet above, there's a lovely Sunrise Essential Oil included in the box that's been blended by Suncloud By Kay. With a mix of Eucalyptus, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Lemongrass, Orange, Peppermint, Rosemary and Tea Tree, it'll put you in a good mood in no time at all!
Sunshine Bindery Spread Your Sunshine Greeting Card
To complete the box, there's a greeting card with the slogan 'Spread Your Sunshine' to send to someone special to lift their spirits. I thought this was such a nice finishing touch to the box, especially in light of these difficult times - it's always important to keep in touch and let others know that you're thinking of them.
The Box Of Yin I Yang* costs £34.95 with free UK postage on a monthly subscription basis, or you can purchase a one-off box for the same price plus postage. Subscribe at boxofyinyang.com
