Sheet masks are a regular favourite pampering treat of mine, and I've recently discovered how much I love eye masks as well, but lip masks? I wasn't so sure until I tried out this new addition to STARSKIN's mask range.
STARSKIN's Dreamkiss Lip Mask is like a normal sheet mask, but it's been specially created for your lips. If you've tried out any of STARSKIN's facial sheet masks, you'll be familiar with their 'bio-cellulose second skin' mask creation which helps your skin absorb as much of the infused serum formula as possible. The lip mask is the same.
Key ingredients & claims?
The Dreamkiss Lip Mask aims to plump, soften, smooth and hydrate your lips by using a nourishing formula that features ingredients such as Sea Fern, Mango, Hyaluronic Acid, Chia Seed Oil, Collagen, Jojoba Oil, Flaxseed, Coconut Oil, Honey, Beat Glucan and Pomegranate. Each lip mask has been infused with 5ml of this serum formula to deliver an intensive treatment to even the driest of lips.
Packaging and storage?
Inside each card square, you'll find a double sachet with two lip masks (one in each). Once you open the sachet, you need to use the lip mask straight away as it's not suitable to be stored afterwards. Travel-friendly.
Application?
The lip mask comes in three layers; two outer layers to protect it and the lip mask layer itself sandwiched in between. The whole thing is soaked in serum so it's very wet and quite difficult to pull apart as it's so slippery! Eventually, I was able to apply it to my clean, dry lips and smoothed it out the best I could as instructed. I was worried that it was going to taste soapy as it's inevitable you're going to get some of it in your mouth, however it didn't, though I wouldn't recommend eating it! You need to leave it on for 15 minutes, but once it's on, you can move around without it falling off and although the mask was very wet, it doesn't drip once on. There's an initial tingling sensation (that 'something's working here' feeling) for about the first 20 seconds or so, and then it feels really nice and cooling.
Results and overall thoughts?
After the 15 minutes were up, I carefully peeled off the mask and massaged in any excess serum. My lips were left incredibly soft and moisturised, no dry patches anywhere. I also noticed that they looked slightly more plumped up and that any lip lines had definitely been smoothed out. The effects were temporary as they lasted for the rest of the day and night, and were gone by the next morning, but this lip mask does create the best canvas for applying matte lipsticks so maybe one to try the next time you have a special occasion coming up? I also think these will be very useful during the winter months to rescue dry, chapped lips!

DeleteI haven't tried a lip mask yet but I did receive one of their eye mask sachets in my most recent Birchbox. I think I'll give them a try and if I like them I might try one of these once we get into winter and my lips are really suffering x
