Mineral makeup is something that I reach for a lot more when the weather gets warmer as I tend to gravitate towards a much lighter and fresher look. I've been testing out this trio of mineral beauties from Munio Miscui recently, and I've been really impressed by their quality and performance.
Munio Miscui are a brand that I hadn't heard of until about two months ago. They're an independent, high-end, British company who specialise in creating small batches of natural, organic makeup and skincare. Everything is cruelty-free and suitable for vegetarians to use, and all of the products are free from a whole range of 'nasties' (full list on their website here).
They very kindly sent me a trio of their bestselling Mineral Makeup products to try out, all of which are formulated without talc, fragrance, alcohol, bismuth oxychloride or nanoparticles.
In the jar this may look like a standard traditional mineral bronzer, but once applied, it gives the most beautiful sunkissed glow to your complexion. It's a warm bronze shade with a peachy undertone that blends out beautifully and has a subtle shimmer to it for a luminous glow effect. I like using this with a large powder brush and applying it all over my face for a radiant finish that looks natural and glowy like you've just come back from two weeks in the sun. It also works well with a smaller brush for a highlighter-meets-bronzer touch of colour on the cheeks.
Munio Miscui Mineral Blush in B007 Joie* (4.5g, £20, link)
This mineral blush is featherlight soft to the touch, highly pigmented and easy to blend/work with. The shade I have is called Joie which is a cool-toned baby pink that has a tiny amount of glowy shimmer to it. Usually, I struggle to wear cool-toned pinks like this, but this one sheers out really well so I can get away with just a smidge of colour on my cheeks that helps to brighten up my whole face.
Munio Miscui Skin Perfecting Veil in Nude* (4.5g, £20, link)
The Skin Perfecting Veil is the product that I was most impressed with as it's basically Photoshop in a mineral powder format! This finely milled, silky soft translucent powder has tiny light diffusing particles that help to blur imperfections such as large pores and fine lines, so it gives you an Instagram filter style finish that looks flawless. I've tried it over a few different foundations and it works well with them all including both liquid and mineral formulas. It comes in two shades, of which I have the translucent 'nude' one, but this light colour soon disappears once buffed into the skin (I've swatched it heavily below so you can see this guide shade for yourself).
Swatches! Top to bottom: Munio Miscui Skin Perfecting Veil in Nude, Mineral Blush in Joie and Satiné Lumiere Veil in Soft Bronze.
All products are available direct from Munio Miscui online from munio-miscui.com, and they also offer a sample service where you can purchase 0.4g samples for only £2.50 each. A great way to try them out!
