New In: 4 Summer Friendly Products To Try from Goldwell, Aveda, REN & This Works
There have been lots of noteworthy new releases recently, and these four in particular, are just perfect for using during the upcoming summer months. I've tried and tested them out over the past couple of weeks so here are my thoughts!

Try If You Want A New Hair Oil - Goldwell Kerasilk Control Rich Protective Oil* (75ml, £23.50, link)
Whilst I'm one of those people who lives for hot summer days, I do find myself fighting a battle with frizzy hair thanks to the increased humidity. If you have the same problem and want sleeker locks, a lightweight hair oil will be your BFF. Goldwell have a dedicated Kerasilk Control range that helps to manage frizz without weighing hair down (it's often a catch 22 otherwise).

Their Rich Protective Oil is a winner from the line as it really helps to banish that frizz, whilst adding shine (always a welcome bonus!) and making hairstyling much easier in general. Exclusive to Goldwell salons so keep an eye out if you come across this gem along your travels.

Try If You Need A New Facial Sunscreen - Aveda Daily Light Guard Defense Fluid SPF 30* (30ml, £34, link)
A good facial sunscreen is your best protection against premature aging. The 'Sun Aged Truck Driver' photo from a few years ago has been doing the rounds again on social media and it still scares the life out of me when you can so visibly see the damage that the sun does to unprotected skin (see it here)

I've been enjoying using Aveda's new Daily Light Guard Defense Fluid because it absorbs relatively quickly into the skin, and it doesn't feel sticky or greasy like some sunscreens do. I also haven't had any breakout or clogged pores issues with those (another common bugbear with SPFs) as it uses 100% mineral derived sunscreens that protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Plus it smells lovely!

Try If You Live Or Work In A City - REN Flash Defense Anti-Pollution Mist* (60ml, £24, link)
Whilst we're all aware of the damaging effects of the sun, it can be all too easy to forget about the damage that pollution can do to our skin, as well as our health. A lot of skincare brands have come out with 'anti-pollution' products, but I like REN's new release the most as it doesn't contain any mineral oil, parabens, sulphates, silicones etc (because what's the point of using an anti-pollution product if it's full of other crap that isn't great for your skin?!).

This new mist acts on four key lines of defense to help 'shield' the skin from UV, free radicals and environmental pollutants like exhaust fumes, and uses a range of clever bio-actives like Quercetin, Zinc and Magnesium Amino Acids to do this. To use, you simply spritz it on before going out, and it can be used over makeup without disturbing it, as well as being reapplied throughout the day. Does it actually work? It's very hard to say to be honest, but it does feel very refreshing and I like the idea that I'm potentially doing something good for my skin. Only time will tell as they say!

Try If Your Face Wants To Get Its Glow Back - This Works Energy Bank Skin Glow* (30ml, £30, link)
You guys know how much I love a good multi-tasking product and this one's great if you want your complexion to gets its glow back after Winter. Skin Glow is the newbie to This Works' popular Energy Bank range and is a fantastic addition to my skincare/makeup routine. Packed full of natural plant actives like Green Algae and Vitamin C, it helps to re-energise skin, leaving it looking more radiant and healthy.

You can use it as a brightening primer to perk up dull skin and to create a smooth surface for makeup application. It also doubles up as an effective hydrating serum before your moisturiser to give it a boost and plump up tired looking skin. Perfect for mornings where you haven't gotten much sleep and ideal for those who need a quick fix for hungover faces the next day.

Have you tried any of these new releases?
