NAOBAY Calming Face Toner & Oxygenating Cream Moisturiser
NAOBAY, the Spanish eco-friendly, natural and organic brand, have officially launched in the UK this month. To celebrate their arrival, I've been trying out one of their popular moisturisers along with a toner from their skincare range to see what all the fuss is about.

For a skincare junkie like me, it's always exciting when a new brand comes to town, especially one with strong green credentials such as NAOBAY. This Spanish company have built up a following by creating their products with mostly naturally derived ingredients, a percentage of which are certified organic by Ecocert, and they offer a wide range of toiletries from skincare, bodycare, spa/pampering and dedicated lines for men and baby. Everything is cruelty-free and free from parabens, silicones, PEGs mineral oil, SLES, paraffin, GMOs, dioxins, BHTs, formaldehyde, artificial colourants etc, and their packaging uses only remnants of wood from the timber industry which is also from strictly sustainable FSC certified sources.

I've come across NAOBAY via various beauty boxes in the past (I think they've done the UK Glossybox and Birchbox circuits), but this is the first time that I've properly used any of their skincare. I've been testing these two products for the past month, so here are my thoughts!

First things first - the packaging is simply beautiful. Seriously, how good does that look on your vanity table?! This moisturiser is composed of 98.83% naturally derived ingredients (12% of which are organic) and mainly uses Aloe, Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter and Rosehip Oil to soften, protect and moisturise the skin. It comes with an inbuilt pump and smells quite fresh and sweet. The texture is neither thin nor thick, just somewhere in between and it absorbs easily.

Although it's recommended for all skin types by the brand, I'd say it's best for dry or normal complexions because I found it a little too rich for my combination skin to use in the day. I haven't had any breakout issues with it or anything like that, but I feel it's just too hydrating for what my skin needs, though I have been enjoying using it sparingly as a night cream over my regular serum and that's been working really well.  I think I'd get a lot more use out of this during the Winter months, but if you have dry skin and you're looking for a new natural moisturiser, definitely check it out.

As my combination skin is also on the sensitive side, my brain automatically makes me reach for anything with 'Calming' in the title and this toner is fantastic for when my complexion is playing up. It's made from 93.13% natural ingredients (12.16% organic) and has been specially formulated with soothing Chamomile and toning Gotu Kola extracts in an Aloe base. It smells subtly of citrus but it's not overpowering to my nose, and it also doubles up as a gentle make-up remover if you're wearing light makeup or doing a quick pre-cleanse step.

There's no pump with this which is usually a bugbear of mine as I love a good old spritz, but this toner performs much better as a swipe on/swipe off with a cotton wool pad job anyway. I might still be tempted to pour a little into a spray bottle for when the weather starts to heat up though because it's wonderfully refreshing!

NAOBAY are available in the UK via lookfantastic.com, beautyexpert.com and beautybay.com
