Just before Christmas, I was introduced to a British natural and organic skincare range by Angela Langford, who kindly sent me some of her products that would be suitable for my sensitive, oily/combination skin. I've tried these out for over a month now so I finally feel ready to share my thoughts with you all!
Angela Langford is a new brand to me, and as I'm always looking to try out more 'green' skincare, her range of handmade natural and organic products instantly appealed to me. Everything is cruelty-free and 99% natural, so they're free from all the usual nasties like parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours, and sulfates etc. Price point wise, I feel that everything is competitively priced for a natural/organic range, and that this brand would be suitable for those who are looking for a greener, cleaner version of products from the likes of Clinique and Origins.
Step 1: Makeup Removers & Cleansers
Angela Langford I Can See Clearly Now Eye Makeup Remover* (50ml full size - sample pictured, £15, link) - Formulated with Argan, Safflower and Jojoba Oils, this eye makeup remover feels very gentle on the delicate eye area and effectively removed all of my eye make-up including liquid eyeliner and mascara, but it struggled a little with very stubborn, waterproof mascaras like Benefit They're Real. That said, it didn't irritate my eyes and I removed anything that was left over with just another saturated cotton wool pad.
Angela Langford Clean Sweep Cleansing Balm* (100ml, £24.50, link)
I'm a huge fan of cleansing balms and was pleasantly surprised when I saw that this one came packaged in a squeezable tube, rather than a tub or a jar, as it makes it that much more convenient and easy to use when you're short on time. This balm has a lovely light and nourishing texture that quickly melts into the skin, removing all of my makeup within seconds. I love using this and especially adore its fresh lemony scent!
Step 2: Face Wash
Angela Langford Sweet Cheeks Balancing & Cleansing Face Wash* (100ml full size - sample size pictured, £18, link)
If you have oily/combination skin that you want to balance out, Sweet Cheeks is the face wash for you. It's a non-foaming, very gentle formula so ideal for sensitive skin too, and it does a great job of absorbing excess sebum/oil, whilst helping to keep skin clear and uncongested. I like to use this first thing in the morning but you can also use it in your evening routine as well.
Step 3: Toner
Angela Langford Tone Up Purifying Skin Tonic* (100ml, £14, link)
Toners are one of those products that people sometimes skip in their skincare routine, but I always notice a difference whenever I use one so I always do! This one is specially formulated for skin that's prone to breakouts (perfect for mine then) and has lots of key active ingredients such as Wild Pansy (helps to minimise the appearance of pores and rejuvenate the skin), Comfrey (to add moisture), and Yarrow (natural astringent to soothe and strengthen skin tone). It felt very refreshing and helped to control and balance the oilier areas of my complexion really well.
Step 4: Serums & Moisturisers
Angela Langford Perfect Pores Serum* (30ml full size - sample size pictured, £31, link)
Perfect Pores is a wonderful light gel-like serum that absorbs easily into the skin and helps to minimise the appearance of pores, whilst keeping them clear at the same time. Formulated with ingredients like Rose Petals, Electric Daisies, Cypress and Juniper, this serum also contains Hyaluronic Acid for added hydration. This serum left my skin feeling plumped and looking less congested so it gets a big thumbs up from me.
Angela Lanford Balancing Act Anti-Aging Daily Moisturiser* (50ml, £31, link)
Lastly, I tried out the Balancing Act Daily Moisturiser which is formulated for combination and oily skin. Perfect as a morning moisturiser, it's rich in Evening Primrose Oil which is well known for its anti-aging properties, Hyaluronic Acid for extra hydration, Willowherb to regulate the skin's natural sebum production and Chia Seed to improve elasticity and reduce wrinkles. It feels light yet hydrating, and did a great job of keeping my oily t-zone under control throughout the day.
Summary
I'm really impressed with the quality of these skincare products from Angela Langford, with my favourites being Clean Sweep, Tone Up, Perfect Pores and Balancing Act Moisturiser. If you're curious about the brand, they also have a free samples service which is well worth looking into.

ReplyDeleteThanks Audrey - they're both great products :) x
DeleteThis sounds like a great range for oily, breakout prone skins but without skimping on hydration! More brands should do sample services too xx

Definitely, it's so important to hydrate oily skin as much as dry skin so that it stays happy and balanced. I totally agree, wish more brands did samples, especially for skincare! xx
