Sundays were made for taking some well earned 'me' time and indulging in a good old pamper. Here's an easy four step pamper that you can do at home which will leave your hair and skin feeling amazing.
If your hair and scalp is feeling all dry and unhappy due to the cold weather and central heating, give it some much-needed moisture and TLC with a good pre-shampoo oil treatment. Something like Khadi Vitalising Hair Oil* (100ml, £11.90, link) is a fantastic choice because it's an all natural oil which uses Indian herbs to stimulate hair growth and strengthen roots, as well as having lots of Omega rich ingredients like Sesame, Coconut and Carrot Seed Oils to help prevent future breakage and it also helps to restores dull and damaged hair to its former glory. Just massage a small amount into your scalp and apply through the lengths and ends, leaving it on for 30 minutes before washing out or leave it on overnight for a super intensive treatment.
Step 2: Use a softening and volumising shampoo
After a pre-shampoo oil treatment, you want to use something that is going to help retain your newly revitalised hair (this is not the time to be using a detox shampoo otherwise you'll just strip away all those good oils!), so a specialised softening shampoo is a perfect follow up companion. Davines Oi Shampoo* (280ml, £15.20, link) gently hydrates and softens the hair without using SLS, plus it has volumising benefits which equals easy peasy swish worthy hair.
Step 3: Try out a new shower or bath product
I'm a bit of a hussy when it comes to shower gels and bath goodies as I love to experiment with different scents but this doesn't mean that you have to spend a fortune. One of my favourite budget friendly brands recently released a new scent and I've become slightly addicted to it. Treaclemoon Gentle Powder Love Bath & Shower Gel* (500ml, £2.99, link) is pure baby powder scented heaven and can be used in a long hot bath or a quick shower depending on how much precious 'me' time you have. It smells so clean and fresh!
Step 4: Treat your skin to a multi-tasking face mask
A face mask is one of the fastest ways that you can give a boost to your complexion, so I always try to do one on a Sunday. As my skin has been playing up recently and is really hating Winter, I've been reaching for Skin & Tonic Coco Mask* (50g, £22, link) which is a brilliant multi-tasker as it both detoxifies and hydrates at the same time. It's 100% natural and is made with just five ingredients which are composed in a powder that you mix with water to create a paste. If you're feeling adventurous, you could add some raw honey or natural yoghurt to the powder to create an even more hydrating mask if your skin is feeling particularly dry or dehydrated - both methods work exceptionally well and the mask only takes 10-15 minutes.
What products are you currently enjoying pampering yourself with?
