The other evening I was invited to an exclusive blogger event to have a look at the &Beauty spa/salon at John Lewis, Birmingham, and to try out some of the beauty treatments available.
Hidden away at the back of floor two in John Lewis (Grand Central, Birmingham) lies a little place of pampering heaven. This place is called &Beauty which is owned by Regis UK (who also own Regis and Supercuts), and it offers consumers a range of over 100 beauty treatments including everything from haircuts and blow-dries to facial treatments and full body massages.
The main part of &Beauty looks like a typical upmarket hair salon with huge mirrors and lots of light, and there's a small section right at the front where you can have your nails done.
I was treated to an OPI Gel Manicure (I chose the shade Black Cherry Chutney - a cult A/W favourite) which will last up to two weeks and the nail technician did a fantastic job. I couldn't stop looking at my nails for the rest of the evening and I've had plenty of compliments about them since.
Moving to the back of &Beauty, I was introduced to one of the hair stylists, Louise, who kindly offered me a Head Massage, Hair Treatment, Blowdry and Finish. As my hair has been feeling really dry lately, Louise recommended one of the Kerastase Hydrating Fusio Dose Treatments which is one of their bestsellers for customers at this time of the year.
The head massage was wonderfully relaxing and the Kerastase Treatment left my hair silky soft and shiny. Louise did an awesome blow dry and then finished my hair into some lovely loose curls using some Redken products.
Afterwards, I got my eyebrows threaded which didn't hurt anywhere near as much as I imagined it would (lot less painful than waxing IMO!), and I loved the results! They also offer tinting and lash extensions, as well as many other threading services.
Next to the back of the salon is an area for one hour Luxury Manicure and Pedicure treatments which involve hand/foot soaks and massages using Salt of the Earth products which have lots of natural minerals in their formulas.
Moving back around the salon, I had a look at the products that they sold and was pleased to see a whole range of Pinks Boutique, including their gorgeous Petite Candle Collection and Try Me Sets. Kirstie Allen, the brand's founder, was on hand to show us around the special Spa section of &Beauty which is located behind a huge mirrored door next to the pay counter.
The Spa at &Beauty is such a hidden gem and feels like a different world, always from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. When you walk into it, your senses are immediately relaxed by the scent of aromatherapy oils and the accompanying dimmed light.
There's an area with huge comfy seats where you can indulge in some serious pampering using organic Pinks Boutique products which are stocked throughout the spa and offer some of the best natural treatments that are currently available on the market.
The Spa also has four special treatment rooms where you can enjoy lots of different massages including Hot Stone, Relax & De-Stress, Invigorate & Refresh, as well as Exfoliation treatments, Organic Waxing and Facial Therapy Treatments including Microdermabrasion. Each of the rooms were clean, calm and inviting - exactly what you want when you go in for an expert pampering session.
So the next time you're in Birmingham, pop into &Beauty at John Lewis and have a look for yourself; your mind and body will certainly thank you for it.
Huge thanks to everyone at &Beauty for such a lovely, relaxing and pampering evening! *Treatments that I received were all complimentary for bloggers.
