Whilst I love to discover new and recently launched brands, I think it's equally important to acknowledge companies who have been established for a long time. Beauty Without Cruelty is one such brand who have stuck to their ethos for over 30 years.
As the company name may suggest, Beauty Without Cruelty is a completely cruelty-free makeup range which is BUAV certified and only uses 100% vegan ingredients. They use recycled packaging wherever possible, and their products are naturally free from parabens, synthetics, fragrance, carmine, sulphates, petrochemicals etc.
Many brands which such admirable green and ethical credentials come into the middle to higher end of the beauty paying spectrum, but everything from BWC is very affordable and budget friendly for eco-conscious consumers, with nothing currently being priced over £11.99. With all this in mind, I was eager to try something from them to see if their products were any good.
Beauty Without Cruelty Moisturising Lipstick in Sweet Apricot
I chose to review one of their Moisturising Lipsticks in the shade Sweet Apricot. Described as a 'fruity beige', this colour is a pretty shimmery warm toned peach, which leans more pink on my lips as you can see above (but bear in mind that my natural lips are quite pigmented to begin with). The lipstick delivers a sheer wash of colour and glides on smoothly, though this shade is perhaps a little too frosty for me to wear on an everyday basis but would look great for an evening / night out. It's not very long wearing (an hour or two tops) so will need to be reapplied frequently which is its only downside but for the price and the fact that it doesn't contain any 'long wearing' chemicals, I can forgive this. I'm definitely interested in picking up one of the more opaque / pigmented colours next as the shade range looks fab for a green beauty brand.
