Flowers are one of my favourite things to give as gift and are perfect for any occasion. I think they make great surprises too and are an ideal way to cheer up a friend or relative, as well as a treat for yourself and your home.
Appleyard London recently emailed me to ask if I'd like to review one of their bouquets and once I saw their very chic website, I knew I'd be scheduling a post asap! Appleyard is a flower delivery company who specialise in luxury flowers and have bouquets that are suitable for a wide range of occasions and as gifts. It's easy to shop via their website and search for what you're after by a variety of flower, colour, occasion and price categories.
I chose the Summer Coulis Bouquet* (standard, £39.99) from the Seasonal Flowers Collection. This bold bouquet is composed of Cerise Gemini and vibrant Wow and Tara Roses, which are complemented by Blue Agapanthus and Summer Foilage. The flowers arrived by Royal Mail the next day in a huge cardboard box and were wrapped in white cellophane. Each flower was perfect, with no signs of damage or discolouration - as you can see in the photos, they are simply stunning. They came with care instructions and a sachet of flower food to prolong their life.
I absolutely love the colours in Summer Coulis - it really brightens up any corner of the room and they would be perfect for a gift. I imagine anyone who receives one of these would have a big smile on their face.
P.S The pink flower at the front is short because I accidentally chopped the stem in half when I was preparing them for the vase- not a fault of the company! :)
Do you purchase fresh flowers as gifts?
