The Pamper Post: The Bathory's Bespoke / Personalised Bath Salts review

Whenever the weather's gloomy, I like to cheer myself up with a long, hot soak in the bath.  A brand new addition to my bathroom comes from The Bathory who have taken a simple concept and turned it into an indulgent spa experience.

I was recently introduced to The Bathory, a small English company who hand-blend bespoke bath salts that customers 'invent' themselves.  They invited me to review their service, and being a bath / pamper junkie, I eagerly accepted.  Their website is super slick and professional, so it was a fun, easy and enjoyable task to choose my personalised bath product.  And exciting too!

First you choose what kind of bath you want out of three options:-

- Bask is made up of a tri-blend of Epsom, Dead Sea and Himalayan Pink Salts and recommended for those who want to enjoy a long luxurious bath.

- Soothe features a mix of Epsom Salts, Oatmeal, Honey and Buttermilk for a skin softening pamper.

- Detox on the other hand is a combination of Epsom Salts and Rhassoul Clay to draw out toxins and impurities.

Then you pick your three favourite organic Essential Oils out of ten options; Bergamot, Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang. Don't worry if you're not too familiar with all of them because the website brings up detailed information about the unique properties of each essential oil, what they smell like and suggests what they'll go well with to help you decide.

I thought long and hard about what I'd like to have in my personalised product and eventually chose to go with the Soothe option and picked Chamomile, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang for my essential oils. My bespoke blend arrived within 48 hours of placing the order, and I immediately fell in love with the chic violet glass jar and cool typography design.  I couldn't wait to get into the tub! The blend absorbed into the water easily and the scent of the essential oils was strong, but not overbearing.  I definitely made the right choice choosing the Soothe blend because it made my skin feel like silk and I didn't need to use any extra body moisturiser when I got out.  Most interesting of all though, I had the BEST night's sleep of my life.  I was so relaxed afterwards, I just drifted off to the land of nod as soon as my head hit the pillow which is amazing considering that it usually takes me anything up to two hours to fall asleep.  I honestly can't recommend The Bathory enough and will definitely be trying the other blends in the future!
