If you hate thick and greasy sunscreens, Bare Minerals Natural Sunscreen could be your Holy Grail answer this Summer.
I've been a huge fan of Bare Minerals' foundations for a long, long time but had only recently come across their Natural Sunscreen when Tati from Youtube mentioned it in a video. It's difficult to find liquid sunscreens that are light and easily absorbed, so the idea of a mineral powder sunscreen instead definitely appealed to me, especially one that could be applied on the face.
Bare Mineral's Natural Sunscreen comes in a plastic tube-like container with an inbuilt brush. Dispensing it is super easy; you just Twist the bottom to extend the brush out, Click to where it says 'Open' and then Buff it into the skin. A small amount of product is dispensed at a time so you can really control how much you use and don't have to worry about wasting any. The brush head can also be detached so you can keep it perfectly clean.
The powder formula contains 'micronized Titanium Dioxide mineral' which provides protection against UVA and UVB rays, and it has Aloe Vera Extract and Vitamins to give extra TLC to the skin. It has a tint to it so it's great for using on no makeup days when you don't want to wear anything else but still want a little coverage. I've been loving using this because it feels so lightweight on the skin, helps to keep shine at bay and it doesn't clog pores. The tube is also very convenient because you can simply pop it into your bag and touch up on the go if you're out in the sun all day. No more excuses for having a sunburnt face!
Bare Minerals Natural Sunscreen SPF30* retails for £18.99 and is available from chemistdirect.co.uk
Have you tried a mineral powder sunscreen like this before?

Never heard about this! What a lovely product Evelyn and I like the fact that you can have a "controlled" application which avoid wastage of product.
ReplyDeleteDo you use it only on the face? and do they have only a SPF 30 version?

You can use it on the face and body :) I believe they only have a SPF30 version as their standard mineral foundations all have SPF15 in them but you can get it in Light or Medium tints xx
DeleteThis sounds brilliant, even though I would probably still put a liquid sunscreen on underneath they are a pain to reapply so this sounds like a perfect solution :) Xx
ReplyDeleteYes, it's always a good idea to have your sunscreen as the first layer on your skin :) xx
DeleteInteresting product....x
ReplyDeleteIt is! x
DeleteI have never heard about any powder sunscreen but seems very clever! Specially for those of us with oily skin, I hate the feel of sunscreen on my face no matter how light it's supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteSame here, my skin is typically Combination but definitely leads more towards being Oily in the summer so I love this!
DeleteI hadn't heard of this and I watch Tati!? It sounds like such an interesting product, I too hate sunscreen on my face. Lucy at Lucyy Writes x
ReplyDeleteI think I remember her featuring it in one of her Hot or Not brand videos, though I think I've seen it in some of her summer ones too! x
DeleteI bought one like this not long ago by Susan Posnick called Brush on Block, it's such a genius idea! xx
ReplyDeleteI saw you Instagram that! xx
DeleteThis sounds wicked! Never seen a sunscreen like it before! Not sure if I would pick it up though, defiantly for someone who doesn't like regular sun protection.

Yeah it's a cool concept!
DeleteWhat an amazing sounding product, I've never come across a sunscreen that is powder based and that you just brush on before. This sounds perfect for applying under makeup, unless the fact that it's a powder would interfere with applying liquid foundations over the top x

Usually I'd say apply this over your liquid base, BUT gossmakeupartist on Youtube has done a video where he applied a mineral foundation first and then put a liquid over the top so it could work! x
DeleteThis sounds so perfect for summer, definitely want to try it after your review! x
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of using a mineral sunscreen before, this is a really good idea! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so good! xx
DeleteI've wondered about this for a while (being a felllow Bare Minerals foundation lover!) - may have to take the plunge and just go for it! x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, if you love BM foundations, you'll love this! x
DeleteThis sounds great! I'm really trying to go a bit more make-up free during summer, but I still need a little bit of coverage, so I'll definitely keep this in mind.

It's really good, I'd say you get about the same kind of coverage a light tinted moisturiser would give :) x
