Haircare Review: Naked Volume Body Building Shampoo & Weightless Conditioner

Sunday, 9 March 2014

I've had great success with Naked's SLS free haircare range, and currently have their Brunette Radiance duo and Detox Shampoo on the go in my bathroom.  However, with the recent change in the seasons, I've found that my hair has been struggling to retain any kind of volume, so I thought I'd try out Naked's Volume duo to give it some extra oomph.

Naked Volume Body Building Shampoo* (250ml, £4.19)
With a name like that, I had high hopes!  This body builder has extracts of Wheat Proteins to plump up the hair's volume, and Chicory to tame flyaways.  The shampoo is relatively thick for a SLS free formula, and has a subtle spicy scent to it which I really enjoyed as it helped to wake me up first thing in the morning, but isn't overpowering.  I did a double wash with it, and my hair was left clean but a little dry on the old lengths and ends so I'd definitely recommend using conditioner with it.

Naked Volume Weightless Conditioner* (250ml, £4.19)
The matching conditioner has a thin cream consistency and shares a similar subtle spicy scent as the shampoo.  I found that this worked incredibly well as a detangler and frizz tamer, but it didn't give my hair as much moisture as it needed, so I'd prefer to use this in conjunction with a hair oil or mask.

Summary: After leaving to air dry naturally, I noticed some extra volume in my roots which I was happy with, but found that it dropped gradually throughout the day which may be due to my hair being medium thick, and not fine for which this duo is specially formulated for.  I did love how clean my hair was though and the conditioner is a fantastic detangler so I'll use them up with other products.  If you have fine hair, I imagine this affordable duo would suit you perfectly.

Suitable for Vegetarians - both products are also 97% natural like the whole Naked range is.
Currently in the 3 for 2 offer at Boots or purchase direct from Naked Bodycare.

Have you tried / do you use any Naked haircare?

  1. The longer I use Naked hair products the more I don't get on with them. I haven't tried these yet though. I think I'm just too in love with Pureology haha x

  3. this was the first range of SLS-free hair care I ever tried, and it was ok, I really liked it but there was something about it that was abit off at the time. I may re-visit this range again some time :-) xx

  4. I tried their Rescue range before and it's the only thing that has ever made my hair feel greasy! I tried it a few times and then gave up, normally my hair drinks up any moisture it can without greasiness, but this was just too much for it.
