5 Mini Reviews: Aveeno, Essential Care, Weleda, Live Native & Lavera

Thursday, 6 February 2014

I love trying out samples, and found these in the bottom of my travel bag earlier which I've used up.  Here are my thoughts on them.

(1)  Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
I haven't tried anything from Aveeno before and had this sample sachet kicking around from a magazine.  Unfortunately, this didn't do anything for my dry skin and in fact, made it feel even more dry and oddly 'tight' after I applied it.  Not for me!

(2)  Essential Care Creamy Coconut Cleansers
Essential Care / Odylique do a fab range of mini / try me travel sizes and I've gone through a couple of these cleanser samples in the past.  This is a lovely gentle cleanser that's ideal for dry and/or sensitive skintypes.  It always makes my skin feel soft and supple afterwards.

(3)  Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion
I love Weleda's Sea Buckthorn range and have raved about it numerous times!  The scent is gorgeous - so citrusy and uplifting!  This body lotion was great, it's light, moisturising and non greasy, thumbs up.

(4)  Live Native Beauty Serum*
I was given this sample vial when I reviewed their amazing Cleansing Balm and I really enjoyed trying it out.  As with most serums, you only need to use a few drops each time, and their Beauty Serum reminded me of Odylique's Superfruit Concentrate but not as hydrating which some may prefer.

(5)  Lavera Mattifying Fluid
A friend of mine is a MUA and she recommended this to me.  It's a light moisturiser that gives the skin a matte finish if used alone, or a matte base if used instead of a heavy primer before applying makeup.  It works really well, but it did feel a little drying.  I'm tempted to try it out again in the summer months though when my skin is naturally more oily.

Have you tried any of these?

The Lavera Mattifying Fluid sounds good, shame about the drying part but hopefully it will work better in summer. xx
