I hope everyone has had a good start to the New Year! If you went out last night or indulged at home too much, and feel a little worse for wear like I do (my head is oh-so-fuzzy right now so please forgive any spelling mistakes), then this is the pamper post to get you feeling like yourself again.
As my Gran always used to say, 'a bath can take all of life's troubles away', and whilst it may not exactly erase the moment that you fell off that table you were dancing on last night, it can certainly help to ease your aches and pains. For a hangover bath cure, I like to pick something that's strongly scented, but one that's relaxing at the same time. Organic Surge Spiced Lily Foaming Bath* is just the ticket. The Spiced Lily flavour is a combination of Patchouli, Clove Bud and Sweet Orange Essential Oils which culminates in a gorgeous, classic autumn/winter scent. Being SLS free, it doesn't produce a mountain of bubbles, but it does yield a deliciously warming sensation thanks to the Cloves, and the scent really does last until you're ready to get out of the tub two hours later.
Step 2 - Slather yourself in Body Oil
Give your skin some essential hydration back by choosing a richly indulgent body oil. A favourite of mine is Pai Jasmine & May Chang Replenishing Body Oil which has Sweet Almond Oil, Omegas 3 & 6 and Vitamins A & E, to help repair and regenerate tired and stressed out skin. It has a pleasant, subtle scent and leaves skin super soft.
Step 3 - Face Mask time
Heavy nights can easily show up on your face in the form of blemishes or simply lacklustre dull skin, so opt for a face mask suited to what you want to fix. A good budget buy I've been using recently is the Superdrug Superberry Mud Mask*, an exfoliating mask with China Clay and antioxidant Berry Extracts. Whilst some mud masks can feel too drying on the skin, this one is much more balancing and doesn't really feel like a traditional mud mask at all. It has a creamy formula with tiny Raspberry Seeds to give your skin a new healthy looking glow.
Step 4 - Try a Face Oil
If you've been wanting to try out a face oil, make this your year to do it! Seriously, since I've started using them, my skin has become a lot more balanced and less oily overall. A'Kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is suitable for even the most sensitive skin and helps to fade and even out any discolouration, acne/blemish scars etc. It's an excellent, all-round face oil that's reasonably priced too.
Happy New Year!
Thank you to everyone who is a reader of We Were Raised By Wolves, whether a newbie or a long timer, I hope you'll enjoy all of the new posts in 2014!

ReplyDeleteAnyway, the jasmine and mai chang body oil sounds very intriguing. So far I've only tried a body oil from The Body Shop (in strawberry scent - which is awesome), so I'm curious to try other body oils too.
