Love Me Beauty Box - November 2013 review

Tuesday, 19 November 2013

It's always a good day when a beauty box drops through the letterbox!  Shall we take a closer look at this month's Love Me Beauty box?

Last month, there was one or two problems with the Lord & Berry products that were included in the boxes (some people received mascaras which were dried up etc, including myself).  To make amends, Lord & Berry issued a statement addressing the problem and promised to include a full size lipstick in the November box as a form of compensation, which is why there are 6 items, instead of the usual 5 this time around.
So! As usual there were 3 different editions of the box to choose from, and I went for No. 2 which contains the following:-

Absolution Le Soin Purifiant
(40ml sample.   Full size is 50ml, £24)
I'm over the moon to see this in the box!  Absolution are a high-end, natural and organic French brand who I've seen name dropped by a few green bloggers in the past.  I'm not sure how easy they are to get hold of in the UK, but I've been wanting to try something by them so I'm very excited to give this skin-renewing/purifying face mask a go.  VERY generous sample size too!

Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Bronze Shadow/Liner
(full size, £10.50)
I love bronze liners for warm, smokey eyes so I'm looking forward to playing with this one.  The sharpened end is a little odd though as it sort of goes in and out, instead of just to a straight tip.  Bizarre!

Mitchell and Peach English Growers Shower Wash
(50ml travel size.  Full size is 250ml, £20)
I have to admit that I've tried this before and wasn't particularly wowed by it, but it's full of clean, natural ingredients so I'm sure I'll use it up at some point or pass it on to someone.  The scent is inspired by the English countryside and it's handmade in Kent.

Models Own Nail Polish in Prussian Blue
(full size, £5)
Always happy to see nail polish included, and even more so when it's by a brand like Models Own.  This month there's a choice of 3 different shades in the boxes available and I was immediately drawn to this gorgeous looking, deep blue.  I'll post a NOTD of this soon!

Art Deco Hydra Lip Booster in Wood Rose
(full size, £11.50)
I've really liked the Art Deco make-up I've tried in the past, so again,I was excited to see this in the box.  As the name suggests, it's a super hydrating lip gloss that delivers a lovely shine and wash of sheer colour.

Lord & Berry Lipstick in Brick Lip
(full size, £12.50)
A lovely lipstick, not sure if everyone received the same shade or not, but I got 'Brick Lip' which is a dark pinky-brown.

Summary:
Once again, I'm more than impressed with the Love Me Beauty box!  I think it's amazing value for money and with Christmas on the way, you could easily pick up one of these boxes and split up the contents to use as stocking fillers/secret santas.  Or simply treat yourself ;)

Love Me Beauty box* is available to purchase for £10 + P&P via their website.

  3. This is the box I have chosen. I was hoping it would come today, but never mind. I wonder if all the compensatory lipsticks will be the same colour x

    1. I've seen a lot of people on Instagram and Twitter say they've received theirs today, so hopefully yours should arrive tomorrow :) Not sure if all the lipstick shades are the same, though I haven't seen anyone get anything different from what I got x
