Review & Swatches: Nvey Eco Eyeshadow Duo in Mahogany Shroom, Nourishing Bronzer and Hydrating Lip Lustre in Amour Rose

Nvey Eco are a natural make-up brand which features Natrue certified organic ingredients in its products.  They're from Australia, but are easily available via online retailers such as Naturisimo and CutECOsmetics.  They're a brand I've seen countless times on green blogs and via Aussie Youtubers, so I was really excited when I was sent three of their products to have a play with.  Here are my thoughts!

Nvey Eco Nourishing Bronzer* (10g, £17.99, link)

Enriched with Organic Jojoba Oil, Carrot Oil and Vitamins A & C, this is a pressed mineral bronzer which offers instant warmth and colour to the face, whilst also being kind to sensitive skin.  The formula is talc free and also contains a special Corn Silk blended base to help the powder glide effortlessly on.  It comes packaged in a huge chunky plastic compact with a mirror in the lid and a second tier compartment which holds a flat powder puff underneath.  Personally, I think the packaging is a bit cumbersome and bulky, but it seems sturdy enough to be fit for purpose so I don't mind it too much.  Onto the product itself, this is one pigmented bronzer!  I did a quick finger swatch (as you do) when I first opened it up and my entire figure was covered in product.  You literally need the tiniest amount when you use this, and use a very light hand!  My recommendation is to apply it with a big powder brush first, though once you get the hang of it, you can easily move onto smaller contouring brushes if preferred.

The formula of the bronzer is silky smooth, very finely milled and easy to blend once applied.  It only comes in a 'one shade suits all' deal which is where it sadly lets itself down because this bronzer would only suit those with medium to dark complexions.  It's much too dark IMO for anyone to use who has fair skin, and looks a little orangey on my light olive complexion at the moment.  I'm sure this is something I could use in the summer months when I'm naturally more tanned, but right now it just doesn't suit me.  One to store away until next year I think!

Nvey Eco Eyeshadow Duo* (2 x 3g, £22.99, link)

Like the bronzer above, this Eyeshadow Duo is enriched with natural ingredients such as Organic Jojoba Oil, Chamomile and Vitamins C & E.  It also features the same talc free, Corn Silk base formula which is why I had initial high hopes for it.  Unfortunately, I found these eyeshadows very difficult to work with.  The pressed mineral formula isn't as soft or as finely milled as the bronzer and I ultimately found them to be on the chalky side which was disappointing.  The darker shade Mahogany is a little easier to apply (though still had to be swatched heavily for the photo below) than the lighter shade Shroom; the latter of which is so light that you have to really layer it on to get any kind of colour payoff at all.

I wouldn't recommend this eyeshadow duo because it simply isn't worth it.  There are much better organic and natural mineral eyeshadows on the market for a fraction of the price.  Plus the packaging is enormous and better suited for a quad of eyeshadows rather than a duo.  I find that very unthoughtful and wasteful from a green brand.

Swatches!

Nvey Eco Hydrating Lip Lustre* (8g, £12.99, link)

I love moisturising, non sticky lipglosses and this one firmly ticks those boxes!  Made with Organic Castor Oil, Beeswax and Carnauba Wax, Nvey Eco's Hydrating Lip Lustres are super hydrating, easy to apply (standard doe foot applicator) and don't have much of a scent or flavour; I can detect some slight sweet notes, but only if I'm holding the wand under my nose!  I was sent the shade Amour Rose which is a sheer hot pink with fine silver shimmer.  It delivers a glossy shine, but the overall sheer colour isn't really 'in your face' hot pink, so it's a good option for those who want to try something a little brighter than usual, but one that's still fairly subtle as well.

It doesn't last long on the lips (I'd say an hour tops), but I'm happy to reapply it often because it's completely non-sticky so it's what I'd expect from a lip gloss like this.  The shade range is limited to just three colours, so I'm hoping Nvey Eco bring out some more in the near future.  If you're interested, CutECOsmetics currently have these on offer for £9.50 here.

Have you tried anything from Nvey Eco?

  1. I've been wanting to try Nvey Eco for a while, so thanks for the honest review :) The prices are really reasonable and the lip gloss sounds nice, but it seems like there are probably better natural cosmetic brands out there x

    1. Yeah, I'd only recommend the lipgloss to be honest. I love the bronzer but it's just too dark for me at the mo :( x

    1. It's a bugbear of mine! I love slim, sleek packaging like NARS for example. Bulky stuff just has no place in my limited make-up bag! xx

  3. I love the NVEY eco blushes but I have owned two eye shadow palettes and I have found the finish to be very different on some of the shades, some being chalky some applying really well. My palettes also both broke maybe that is why the packaging is now quite bulky. I am loving natural eye shadows which can be bought as a refill at the moment, that way I can fill my z-pallete happily! Xx

    1. That's interesting, and does make sense about the packaging being so bulky if they've had problems with palettes breaking. I really want to try their blushes, heard a lot of good things about them! xx

  8. I really like the shade of the lippie and longwearing is not really an issue for me, I always tend to touch up very frequently anyway! The bronzer sounds amazing but I agree, it looks a bit too orange against your fair skin!

    1. Yeah the lipgloss is gorgeous but the bronzer is definitely too dark/orangey for me to get away with at the mo!
