August Favourites

Monday, 2 September 2013

My August beauty favourites are reflective of some of the very best products I've been loving over the summer months.  When I gathered them up, I thought they looked like a rather happy bunch, don't you think?  Let's take a closer look.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Cherub* - (review & swatch)
I'm still amazed by how easy to wear this blush is, and how natural it looks on my skin.  Just add one tiny (and I mean tiny!) dot onto your cheeks, and blend out for a pretty flush of colour.  Done!

Barry M Nail Paint in Coral - (NOTD
My nails (both hands & toes) have been wearing this constantly.  One of my all time favourite brights, and an unbelievably good budget buy.

Korres Lip Butter in Quince - (review & swatch)
I reach for these lip butters all the time, but Quince has been taking center stage in my make-up bag recently.  I love the bright pop of pink this gives to the lips and how moisturising it is as well.

Lavera Beauty Balm
With the weather being pleasant and the sun shining, I haven't felt the need to slather on a heavy layer of foundation in a long time.  Instead, Lavera's Beauty Balm has been one of my main go-to summer bases and I'll have a review of this up later in the week.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Well, judging from the fact that I've hit pan on this, I think it's safe to say this is one clearly loved bronzer!  I've been using this for such a long time, and still pick it up more than any of my other bronzers.  It's easy to apply, doesn't look muddy on me and it's matte, a winner all round.

Laidbare Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow* - (review)
As the weather's been so nice, I've been baring my legs quite a lot so this hair minimising moisturiser has been an essential summer staple for me.  It's basically a gel like formula that you apply to your legs after shaving and it helps to slow down the hair regrowth - and it works!

  8. I've got a funny story for you today, haha(laughing already). I bought Quince when I was in Athens and was SO excited about it and when I got home I realised I'd cracked the lid. Naturally, I went about fixing it by using some super glue. However, like a moron I screwed the lid back onto the pot before the glue was completely dry. Long story short, the lid is now superglued to the pot. I must have used it about 3 times total! I was gutted and still can't unglue it. Awkward.

Anyway! It's a wonderful colour and you've reminded me that I need to wear my Pomegranate one more!It takes so long to make a dint in the Benefit boxed blushes so hitting pan is like a big big deal - proves you love it doesn't it :) Once my spending ban ends I think I might pick up a couple of budget items and I am thinking of getting a new Barry M polish. Coral looks really gorgeous. I'm a big fan of colourful nails in the winter as I tend to wear a lot of black and grey, helps brighten things up xx

    1. Oh no! I can see the funny side of it though :D Hope you can pick up another if you liked the shade!

It does take FOREVER to hit pan on those boxed Benefit products - I have a couple and Hoola is the first I've ever hit pan on it. I like wearing brights in A/W for the same reason, always cheers me up too seeing a shade like Coral on my nails :) xx
