I was tagged a while back by the lovely Joanna from Mademoiselle Lala to do this skincare tag. I always enjoy reading about other bloggers skincare routines and habits, so I knew I had to do it myself.
Try to keep it simple!
What's your skin type?
A typical combination one most of the time - I have an oily t-zone combined with some dryness/dehydration elsewhere. As a general rule of thumb it changes to oily/combination in the summer months and combination/dry in the winter.
What's your favourite skincare product?
This is hard! I'm going to have to say Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser which still firmly holds its ground as my HG moisturiser.
Top blemish zapper
I have a couple of products that I use whenever a blemish threatens to appear such as Laidbare's Spot The Difference Treatment Cream, Balance Me Congested Skin Serum (both reviewed here) etc. but by far the best is just straight up Tea Tree Oil!
Face wipes yay or nay?
Most of the time, definitely nay. I'm a big advocate of doing a proper double cleanse in the evenings to remove my make-up and thoroughly clean my skin. You just don't get the amazing results with face wipes that you do with using dedicated cleansers. That said, I do keep a pack in my bedside drawer for those late night emergencies where it's better to take your make-up off with one than sleep in it (that cardinal sin that will ruin your skin!).
Toner yay or nay?
I've been through phases where I didn't use toner and when I started to incoporate it back into my skincare routine, I certainly saw a positive difference so I've continued to use it. I'm loving Jurlique's Purely Bright Facial Mist at the moment.
High end skincare or high end make up?
Most of my skincare is in the middle-high end spectrum, but there are some fantastic budget buys out there by brands like Amie, Organic Surge, Laidbare and Montagne Jeunesse who I'm all a big fan of. I think the key is simply to find products that work for you and that have quality ingredients, rather than looking at the end price.
What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
Last year I was treated to facial at a spa which combined a homemade blend of kaolin clay with snail slime... and it actually worked quite well! You wouldn't catch me having one where actual snails are placed on my face though!
Bioderma H20 Micellar Water - simply because it's SO much cheaper over there than it is here.
Tell us your top skincare tip
Drink as much water throughout the day as you can. No products in the world will make you have amazing skin if you don't try and hydrate it from the inside first.
You can read all of my Skincare product reviews & recommendations here.
Tag open to all beauty bloggers, let me know if you do it!

Would love to read your answers Zoe :) Liz Earle moisturisers seem to be really marmite products for most people so I don't think you're alone! I just love it :) x
DeleteI love these types of post, and simple always works ;) May have to do this one myself :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with face wipes I always used to use them because I thought they were just a quick way to clean your face but realised they don't always work as well.

DeleteHey Evelyn :) So interesting reading up your answers! I really want to try the Jurlique's Purely Bright Facial Mist..Did you notice a difference on your skin using it after a while?
ReplyDeleteIla x

Thanks Ila! I began to notice a difference after using it for a couple of weeks - I think you'll see some results if your skin is naturally very dull and has any uneven skintone. I love the subtle brightening effect (more like 'healthy looking', rather than whitening etc) and my skin always feels wonderfully soft and hydrated after I've applied it. Big fan! x
Deletethe liz earle moisturizer is one of my staples too, love the scent too! I agree, I like a mix of high end and high street too. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's the best! Yeah, definitely much better for the old bank balance too :D xx
DeleteI want to do this tag too!
ReplyDeleteDo it! x
DeleteHavent tried any of these products but if you experience dry skin than maybe some of these would work for me! and i just HAVE to agree about drinking water! best tip!
