Currently Using: Lip Balms!

It's no secret that I have something of an obsession with lip balms.  I have a tube, pot, stick, tin or even sphere of the stuff somewhere near me at all times.  If I didn't, I'd probably run to the nearest shop and purchase one, such is my dislike for dry, chapped lips.  I decided to count up how many of these lip saviors I have in current usage which involved a quick check of my handbags, desk drawers, coat pockets and generally any available surface space that could accommodate such an item.  The total that came back was nine!  So here are those nine lip balms that I currently have on the go:-


The Tinted Ones
I constantly reach for tinted lip balms because they're so fuss free to apply and far less maintenance than lipsticks, especially just for everyday.  Granted, they have less pigmentation than traditional lipsticks of course, but I like the sheer, easy washes of colour that they deliver.  I love Burt's Bees and have one of their Tinted Lip Balms in Red Dahlia in my handbag and one of their Lip Shimmers in Rhubarb in another.  If I want a more nude lip look, I'll go for Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine or my other handbag staple, NUXE Baume Prodigieux Levres Nutri-Protecting Lip Care in Natural Crystal for a sheer lipgloss finish that also has SPF 15.

The Throughout The Day Ones
For general help to combat dreaded dry lips, I like to apply JASON Lips Bee Healthier which has a cooling pepperminty flavour or EOS in Summer Fruit.  In my everyday make-up bag, I also carry Neal's Yard Remedies Busy Bee Balm* that has a plethora of uses and is one of my favourite multi-tasking balms.

 The Before Bed Ones
I always, always, always slather on some lip balm before going to sleep and reach for either a layer of Skin Salveation Lip Balm* or Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips* if the weather has been particularly cold.  Both of these ensure that I wake up to happy, chap-free lips every morning!

    That's a lot of lip balm! I can't deal with dry lips either, so I usually have 4-5 in rotation at any given time. I need at least a couple in my purse (1 regular, 1 tinted) and then there are always a few more hanging around on my dresser.

    I have the Burts Bee's Pomegrante lip balm, I loved it but recently I've been going off of it recently. I have been using my Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine A LOT though, its a really light colour so I can just slap it on and it feels like butter on my lips, will definitely be purchasing another after my ban, its my favourite lip balm of the moment!

    I love the look of the Skin Salveation Lip Balm, I'm looking for a good hydrating one for overnight and its quite inexpensive! Will definitely check that out after my ban

    Oh and i'm definitely a lip balm-oholic!

      I have the Pomegranate one in my stash somewhere, but I don't think I've even opened it yet! Korres Jasmine is so lovely, happy to hear how much you like it!
      Would definitely recommend the Skin Salveation one - it's similar to the original Burts Bees formula in that it's just beeswax, but it's 100% organic too :) xx

    Oooo I love lip balms. Mine are always cracked and dry, nothing ever seems to work permanently ahah. I love the Dr Lipp lipbalm and the Nuxe one is lovely too! I have been using a Karen Murrell miracle balm for my lips a bit like the Rodial Glam balm! Great post :)

    I alway lose my balms before I have the chance to use them up. At the mo I've got 4 that I use daily but lost my Dior Lip Glow which I loved for adding some subtle colour. :'(

    I have tons of lip balms - I try to limit myself to using 3 at a time though, but that doesn't always work out ;)

    Gaaah, I'm jealous of your little collection! I really want to try the Nuxe and Dr. Lipp ones just to see if they live up to the hype! Burts Bees ones are my favourites :) xo

    I got the korres in pomegranate but not loving it... I think I would have liked a light colour like jasmine better. :(

    I like your selection of lip balms :-) My two favourites are Burt's Bees and Figs and Rouge, but I do like to experiment with others.

    I'm a complete lip balm-a-holic! Currents: Dr Lipp, Blistex Med Plus, Carmex, Carmex tinted, Vaseline (emergencies only when I have no other), Balmi, Soltan spf 20 and Burts Bees. I cannot get enough !

    I'm absolutely loving the Dr Lipp before I go to bed, I have medically induced dry lips (not out of choice) and it really helps my lips over night!

    A post which makes me squeal with glee. I *holds hand up* am a lip balm-oholic! I currently have 5 on the go, the Jason one, a Sanctuary one, Figs and Rouge in Cherry and Vanilla, a Vaseline one in Rosy Lips and Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 01 for when I want a bit more gloss and colour with my lip balm. I could talk about lip balms all day!

    I quite like TBS Born Lippy ones, though like you say they're not the most moisturizing so I often only use them in the summer months xx
