Lavera Trend Organic Lipstick in Rosewood* (4.5g, £11.90, link) & Organic Intense Volumizing Mascara in Black* (13ml, £12.90, link)
I never know what to expect when I try a new make-up range from a brand who I automatically associate with lovely bodycare products. I love many of Lavera's body lines (and stocked up on quite a few bits when I was in Germany - thank you rate of exchange!), but is their make-up any good? I was sent a lipstick and a mascara from their new Trend range to try out.
Lavera Trend Organic Lipstick in Rosewood is described as an "elegant milky coffee colour with a hint of pink" and is a beautiful shimmery nude on the lips. I'm always drawn to these shades because they're low maintenance and thus really easy to wear, so I've been wearing this a lot at work recently. The formula is moisturising, pigmentation is good (it's sheer but build-able), and I wore it for 3-4 hours before I needed to reapply. Only minor downside is that it has that old-fashioned/traditional lipstick scent which I'm not the biggest fan of but other than that, it's a lovely lipstick and I'll happily look into the rest of their shade range. One last thing to add - I love the engraving of the Lavera insignia into the lipstick!
Lavera Organic Intense Volumizing Mascara in Black has a big thick wand that carefully coats all of your lashes easily. I was impressed by the clump and flake free formula, but I was slightly disappointed with the overall volumizing results and had expected a more fuller, dramatic effect. That said, it's still a good mascara for everyday and one that I'll continue to use for that purpose.
Lavera products are not tested on animals and are free from Synthetic Fragrances and Colours, Parabens, Silicone oils, Paraffin, Mineral oils and Petrochemicals. The brand holds the international label, 'Na True', for genuinely natural cosmetics. Available in the UK from lavera.co.uk, Holland & Barrett and independent health stores nationwide.
Have you tried any make-up from Lavera?
Anything I should try next?
