bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer (30ml, £16.15, link)
Last week, I popped into TKMaxx to have a browse at their xmas stuff and eventually wandered upstairs to their little beauty department. Well, I say 'department', but in my local one it's mostly a mad mish-mash of shelves with a bunch of random beauty products scattered about. Having a quick rummage through the chaos, I found one solitary bottle of bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer for the bargain price of £7.99! This primer has been on my beauty wishlist for quite some time, so I snapped it up and have been testing it out over the past week.
bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer is a light gel consistency
primer (as you can see below) that has no scent. The formula is preservative free and contains natural plant extracts and Vitamins C & E. Only the tiniest
amount is needed to cover your whole face, so although the bottle might
look tiny (though it is the standard 30ml size that most primers come
in), I estimate that this will last a good couple of months with regular use. It promises to even out enlarged pores and fine lines, combat any rough and dry patches and extend the wear time of foundation.
How did I get on?
The primer feels super silky (it does contain silicone afterall) on the skin, and provides a lovely smooth base for your foundation. I found that it hydrated the dry parts of my oily/combination skin well, especially around the nose area, and gave me a matte free surface to work with. Make-up wise, it helped to keep my foundation looking good for most of the day - I'd say around 8-9 hours. I didn't notice any difference in my pores looking smaller though.
Whilst this is no match for my HG primer from Murad (the amazing Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer Blemish & Shiner Control), I would still recommend it to anyone who is after a primer that smoothes out the texture of their face, and one that will keep their foundation put for most of the day. Needless to say, I'm happy that I got it for a bargain price!
Have you tried this?

DeleteI really want to try Bare Minerals, not sure about this though because anything silicone based doesn't work on my skin!

Might be best to avoid this one then - I sometimes have breakout issues with silicone primers, but haven't had any trouble with this one just yet x
