Budget Beauty: Laidbare DIY! Two In One Cleanser & Toner Review

Laidbare DIY! Two In One Cleanser & Toner (125ml, £5.99, link)*

As much as I love multi-purpose products for hair, body, shower etc, I've never been one to embrace them in my skincare routine.  That was until I started using this two-in-one cleanser & toner from Laidbare, a natural British brand that I only discovered recently.

Laidbare's DIY! Two in One Cleanser & Toner really should be marketed as an amazing 3 in 1 product.  Not only does it cleanse and tone beautifully, but it's also an incredible make-up remover which gets rid of everything, and I mean everything (Yes I'm looking at you stubborn waterproof eye make-up!).

The gel formula consists of many natural ingredients including Liquorice, Aloe Vera and Brazil Nut Extract which all work together to cleanse, tone, strengthen and protect the skin.  It has no chemical nasties, so no parabens, petrochemicals, TEA, DEA, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or colours etc, and its not tested on animals.  It has a fruity/citrusy scent to it.

To use, I squeezed out a 50p sized amount and applied it straight onto dry skin.  Then I used a muslin cloth wrung out in warm water and gently worked it into the cleanser, which lightly lathers up and breaks down all traces of daily grime and make-up.  I repeated the process until all the cleanser had been removed and my face was left thoroughly clean and feeling refreshed

I was at first dubious about the toning claims, because I always apply a separate toner after cleansing, but my skin just didn't feel like it needed that extra step, so I just applied my regular moisturiser.

This is one of those simple, no-rubbish ingredients products that just works wonders and is suitable for all skin types.  A budget beauty bargain for only £5.99!  You can see why I've added it to my Holy Grail list already!

  1. This is one of those cleansers that's been on my to try list for a very long time. I've reviewed their Hair today gone tomorrow which was good for the price :) Is the cleanser a cream or milk consistency?

    1. I really rate it, had never heard of this brand before but will certainly be looking into their other products. It's a clear gel cleanser that lathers up :)

  2. Never heard of this brand before, always been quite wary of cleanser/ toner 2 in 1's (maybe it's just because I like to do each step individually?) But if you've added it to your holy grail list it must be worth trying :)

  6. This sounds fantastic and really reasonably priced for a product that does so much. As a lover of waterproof mascara I'm always on the hunt for products to remove it that don't aggravate my sensitive skin. I think I'll definitely give this ago, especially as (and it's really superficial of me) I love the packaging. I'm such a sucker for pretty, clean-cut packaging like this x
