LUSH No Drought Dry Shampoo (115g, £6.50, link)

As you've probably guessed by reading that subtitle up there, this is another rave review of a product that I've been wanting to try out for a while.  I've seen this mentioned on so many blogs that I've lost count, so naturally it was the first thing that sprang to my mind when my Phil Smith Dry Shampoo ran out the other day.

If you read the Phil Smith review, you may remember that although it worked well for me, I found it a pain in the ass to use.  Dry shampoos are so tricky to get right in terms of the amount to use and application technique, but LUSH's No Drought Dry Shampoo is super easy to use.

As you can see, instead of your typical aerosol, here you have a bottle of powder.  The ingredients are 100% natural and preservative free.  It mainly consists of cornflour and grapefruit oil.  The powder is very fine with a silky smooth texture, and oh-my-god, does this smell AMAZING!  It's got a lovely refreshing and uplifting scent to it because of the citrus oils which makes it really pleasant to use first thing in the morning when I'm still half asleep.

To use, you simply 'puff' a little of the powder into your hands or directly onto your hair.  I prefer to use it in my hands because it gives me more control over how much I can see being used.  I just ruffle it into the roots, give it a quick (but thorough) brush through and I'm done.

With this, I don't have any problems with powdery residue, and oddly enough, I don't get the 'grey roots' look either on my dark brown hair.  I think this is because the cornflour just soaks up any excess oil on my roots straight away and then it just magically disappears, leaving my hair looking refreshed with a bit more volume.  Plus, you only need to use a small amount each time, so this bottle is going to last me ages which is good news considering how often I use a dry shampoo.  What more could you ask for?  Can't recommend it enough!

Do you use this?  What do you think?

    1. Oh no! This one is amazing - I have a sensitive scalp and haven't had any issues with irritation unlike a lot of other brands xx

  2. I really need to go to Lush - I've read so many positive reviews lately! All the aerosol dry shampoos I use I find are too harsh and still give me white hair no matter how many times I brush! I may have to keep this in mind! :)

    Fantastic post as usual!

  6. Wow this looks really interesting! I've never used one without the spray feature before. When I run out of the random half empty ones I have lurking about I will definitely look for it!

  11. Ooooh, I love dry shampoo and I'm always concerned that it will leave my black hair looking ashy, but then I realized you had dark hair too so if you love it, then it'll be perfect for me!! I love the smell of oranges too so the smell sounds perfect! Thank you for the review!

  12. I tried the Phil Smith and Batiste ones but they just didn't work for me, my hair is jet black and they leave a grey look to my hair. I will look into this, the only other one that has worked for me is the Tresseme dru shampoo but this looks great x

  13. I've always wanted to try a dry shampoo and I've heard good things about this one. I had always worried about what it would look like afterwards with dark hair, but hearing that you didn't have a problem makes me want to try it!

Do you know if you can only get it at LUSH stores or is it sold in department/grocery stores as well?
