Review: Liz Earle Signature Lip Colour in Tea Rose

Liz Earle Signature Lip Colour in 07 Tea Rose (3.5g, £14, link)*

I was very excited to try out this lipstick from Liz Earle when it arrived through my letterbox.  Like the rest of her make-up range, all of the Signature Lip Colours are in easy to wear shades and provide a sheer wash of colour.  Perfect if you're a fan of the 'My Lips But Better' look.

Liz Earle's Signature Lip Colours are quite simply beautiful, fuss free lipsticks.  The packaging features that luxe feeling shimmery midnight blue casing, and features the Liz Earle insignia on the tube and the lipstick itself.

The Lip Colours are enriched with Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Avocado Oil, which gives them a buttery soft finish and feel on the lips - an ideal choice for this cold weather!  Coupled with these moisturising properties, the lipstick glides effortlessly on (no dragging, no caking, no sinking into lines etc) and delivers a lovely wash of colour.

You can build these up to have a bit more coverage if you use a lip brush, but for low maintenance, everyday wear, I just use this straight from the bullet.

I have the shade Tea Rose here, which is a rosy nude and I imagine it would suit a lot of skin tones.  It gives me a pretty pink 'My Lips But Better' look.

One thing that I was most surprised about is the wear time.  Most 'sheer wash lipsticks' only last for an hour or so, but this lasted on me for around 2-3 hours (without drinking/eating of course) before I needed to reapply.  Impressive!

The only problem is that I now want more!  There are 19 gorgeous shades to choose from and they all look so wearable and stunning.

Have you tried any of Liz Earle's Signature Lip Colours?
Do you prefer lipsticks like this?

    1. Me too, I love how you can just pick anything at random and KNOW that it'll probably look great on you! :) xx

  2. Thank you for this review! I'm planning a LE order this week (absolutely love her skincare) and also wanted to try one of the new lip colours, but still wasn't sure which shade to pick. Tea Rose is absolutely lovely, a beautiful MLBB shade that I can throw in my bag anytime :)

I also agree with how wearable everything is. You can't really go wrong with any of the LE shades since everything is so neutral. Kinda remind me of Bobbi Brown.

    1. It is a gorgeous shade, glad it's helped you to decide! I was looking at their full range of lip colours earlier and have so many on my wishlist that I want to try.

I agree, the range reminds me a bit of Bobbi Brown too - lots of everyday staples but at a much more purse friendly price :)

    2. Me too, I ordered Tea Rose yesterday and already have Blossom and Sweet Pea on my wish-list for future order. I also want to try some of her blushes (Camellia and Nectar) and eye colours.

I wear mostly MAC make-up and I'm really curious how both brands compare as with pigmentation and wearablity :)

    3. Ooo Sweet Pea is on my wishlist too! I will be reviewing Liz Earle's Powder Blush in Nude next week which is really lovely. The powder blushers remind me of MAC's Sheertone Blushers and these lipsticks remind me a little of MAC's Cremesheen ones, but I must admit that I prefer the Liz Earle ones more because they're more moisturising :)

    4. Nude looks like a lovely subtle colour, I'm looking forward to read your review! I read that the pigmentation of the LE blushes is really good, so I can't wait to try them out myself :)

I like MAC's Cremesheen lipsticks. I wear Creme Cup a lot and I bought Peach Blossom (from the Cremesheen + Pearl collection) last week, which is a nice medium rosey pink. Thank God this one is permanent for a change!

    5. The pigmentation is great on them - like the MAC Sheertone blushes, the LE ones look natural but can be built up for more colour if desired :)

I think if you like the Cremesheen lipsticks, then you'll definitely love the LE ones! I have Creme Cup and really like the consistency of it. I know, it's always good when you find a MAC lippie that's going to be permanent and not just Limited Ed!

    6. Hi Evelyn!

I finally received my Liz Earle package yesterday. I'm really happy that I ordered Tea Rose, which is such a lovely, everyday shade I can see this becoming a new favourite very quickly :)

It looks a bit similar to Bobbi Brown's Rich Lip Color in Uber Pink, which I bought last week. Only UP is more dusty/muted.

  9. LE lipstick is top of the list with next month's salary. Am a bit nervous about investing in make-up which I haven't tried on though. Looking at the photos above the colour of the lipstick in the tube looks very different from the one on the lips.

    1. Yeah with the LE lippies, I'd say that the colour in the tube is always one or two shades darker than what it will actually look like on the lips because the formula is quite light, so do bear that in mind when you order. That said though, the colour range from Liz Earle is really lovely and natural looking, so I don't think you'd be disappointed! x
