Inika Organic Liquid Foundation in Medium (30ml, £29.50, link)*

I reviewed some Inika products last month which you can read about here, and was kindly sent their newly repackaged and soon to be released, Organic Liquid Foundation to try out.

Inika's Organic Liquid Foundation comes in a sleek and very luxe feeling matte black tube, and features a classic gold script that is typical of Inika's branding.  This style of packaging is a LOT better than their old packaging which saw the liquid foundation come in a squeezy tube with an upside down pump.  The new solid tube is just much easier to use and the pump feels a lot more precise with how much it dispenses each time.

The formula of this organic foundation is packed full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and doesn't clog pores.  It's described as a foundation/moisturiser hybrid, so it feels very light like you'd expect from a tinted moisturiser, but gives a little bit more coverage.  It has a subtle fresh herbal scent which soon disappears when you apply it to the skin and it blends really easily with either your usual foundation brush or with just your fingers.

The staying power of this foundation is good and lasted for around 7/8 hours before a touch up was required.  I usually have a major problem with liquid foundations on my oily/combination skin, but this one never felt greasy or heavy, and I only started to see some shine come through after about 6 hours of wear time, which believe me, is pretty impressive!

As mentioned above, Inika's Organic Liquid Foundation reminds me of a tinted moisturiser so it won't give you full coverage, but it can be built to around medium coverage levels if desired, but IMO it looks best when you just want a light, fresh coverage.

Summary: An ideal light organic foundation to consider if you struggle to find liquid foundations that suit oily/combo skins, and I imagine it would work just as well for those with normal-dry skintypes too!

P.S I do find that Inika's foundation shades run a touch lighter, so do bear this in mind when you're thinking about which shade would be best for your skintone.  For example, this suits my complexion as we head into winter, but would be too light for me to use during the summer months when I'm more tanned.

Do you use anything from Inika?
Do you prefer lighter coverage foundations?

  1. That sounds really nice, I often wear TM but a little bit of extra coverage wouldn't go astray ;P Beautiful photos!

  2. It looks nice and natural. I do prefer lighter coverage foundations but my skin is being a brat at the mo so I have no choice but to opt for the likes of Double Wear.

  3. Sounds like it may have changed, I had a pump sample quite a awhile back and it smelt foul and didn't go away, along with being too orange! Lets hope they really have improved!
