Real Techniques Your Eyes / Enhanced Starter Set (£21.99, link)

I've wanted this brush set since receiving the Real Techniques Core Collection as a birthday gift back in June.  I popped into Boots yesterday to pick up some bits and I noticed that I had enough points on my clubcard to get this, so into my shopping basket it went!

The Your Eyes/Enhanced Starter Set consists of the following (from L-R above):-

Deluxe Crease Brush
I'm sure you've all heard of this one before!  Like the Buffing Brush from the Core Collection, the Deluxe Crease Brush is the star of the show in this set.  It's mini kabuki style head is perfect for blending in creamy concealer under the eyes and over blemishes.  And of course it's also great for blending in darker eyeshadow colours into the crease.

Base Shadow Brush
The ideal size for sweeping a base colour over the lids, this brush is also good to use for setting powder on top of concealer too.

Accent Brush
This brush is great for adding a lighter colour to your inner eye corner, and is also ideal for taking eyeshadow underneath the waterline.

Pixel-Point Eyeliner Brush
I've never used an eyeliner brush this shape before (I always use the fine pointed tip ones) and I was worried that this would be far too thick.  However, if you carefully flatten it down when applying your cream/gel eyeliner, you can get an even line no problem.  I still prefer the fine pointy ones, but that might just be because I'm still new to this one.

Brow Brush
Your standard angled brow brush shape, this works really well for filling in brows with brow/eyeshadow.

Like the Core Collection, the Starter Set comes with a handy dual stand/carrier case and all of the brushes are made from ultra plush, synthetic taklon bristles.  A great set of brushes if you're just starting your collection, or simply wanting to add to it!

P.S: The winner of the Betrousse Must Haves box is Jess! Congrats!

  6. I love these brushes! Except for the liner brush-it's a weird size. I find sometimes their brushes are a weird size, but that'ok because you can use it for something else. That eyeliner on I use for concealing small spots instead!

    1. It is a weird size isn't it? I'm still getting used to it, but I think using it to conceal small spots might be a better idea!
