Dinky travel size products! We've probably all bought some for a holiday at some point in our lives, and as the organic beauty market continues to go from strength to strength, it's now even easier to find more natural alternatives to the usual mainstream minatures.
English organic brand, Essential Care, have recently brought out a Limited Edition Holiday Essentials Pack* for 2012 and it has been more than a pleasure for me to try this kit out. Essential Care tick a lot of boxes for the eco conscious consumer; their products are hand-made and created in small batches to maintain optimum freshness, they support fair-trade and natural farming methods, they are organic and Soil Association approved, against animal-testing, free from any chemical nasties, and their products are gentle yet effective, making them suitable for sensitive skin.
The Holiday Essentials Pack contains 7 products from their award winning and best selling range:- 2 x Gentle Herb Shampoo (30ml each), Creamy Coconut Cleanser (30ml), Organic First Aid Lotion (30ml), Organic Rose Petal Tonic (30ml), Organic Rose Moisturiser (15ml) and Organic Calendula Balm (20g).
Two Gentle Herb Shampoos are included, I assume because the shampoo is like a 2 in 1 as it both balances and conditions. I would use an extra conditioner if you have dry hair like I do, but other than that, I found this to be very gentle on the scalp.
All of your skincare needs are covered in the pack and it also makes for a great introduction to the purity of Essential Care's products. The Creamy Coconut Cleanser is very mild and non-drying, and the Organic Rose Moisturiser is a light everyday cream which absorbs into the skin straight away, leaving no greasy residue. It also doubles up as an eye cream and has the most subtle scent of rose, which is great if you find floral scents too overpowering, especially in skincare. The standout product in the pack for me is the Organic Rose Petal Tonic, a rehydrating and soothing rose water toner that comes in a luxe glass bottle with a spray applicator. This is so refreshing to use and I'll definitely be taking this with me next time I'm on a plane!
Two products that I thought were very useful to see included in the holiday pack were the Organic First Aid Lotion and the Organic Calendula Balm. Both of these are multi-purpose; the First Aid Lotion being handy for applying to any cuts, burns, bites and even for spots and acne, and the Caldendula Balm being perfect for rubbing into cuticles and any dry/chapped skin.
Summary: If you're looking for an organic and natural holiday toiletries kit, then this is absolutely perfect. Likewise, if you're looking to try out some new organic beauty products, then this kit can be a cost-effective way to sample lots of different things.
The Essential Care Limited Edition Holiday Essentials Pack is currently on special offer for £29.50 and you can purchase it direct from Essential Care online.
